What Is House Ball?

co-ed, ages 4 to 15

The Pioneer House Ball program is convenient, organized, and most importantly, player-centric. The purpose of our program is to introduce young players to the beautiful game of baseball. In essence, Pioneer House Ball is a community-based program; teams are formed based on location or accommodation of coach/friend requests. Baseball or team sports newcomers and returning players are welcome to play in a non-competitive environment conducive to learning within a wholesome and safe environment. By providing a fun, stress-free, and engaging environment within which your player can learn the game gradually, we build their technical skills, build their confidence, and maximize their creativity. You’ll be amazed at how much your players’ passion and creativity will grow!

WHY CHOOSE HOUSE BALL?

We are aware that there are many baseball leagues in Northern Virginia that you can choose from for your child. At the end of the day, we know you only want the best for your family. We can’t tell you which league to pick nor will we say why other House Ball leagues are inferior, but rather, we’re here to explain what sets our House Ball apart.

  • House Ball develops interest and love of the game. This is where your child learns the intricacies of baseball and augments their skills.
  • House Ball is led by volunteer coaches, who are committed to your child’s development.
  • House Ball provides a sense of local pride by strengthening ties with the local community.
  • House Ball allows you to explore your child’s interest in baseball in an affordable program.
  • House Ball is where you and your family make new friends, meet local families, and create friendships that last through years to come!
  • And finally, House Ball is where you can grow and learn with your child by taking advantage of coaching and other volunteer opportunities.

THE MINORS TROPHY

The Pioneer Baseball Minors Division champions’ trophy is dedicated in honor of Wesley Lipicky, a bright and compassionate 9-year-old who was a beloved member of the Pioneer Baseball family. Wesley, a third-grader at Franconia Elementary School, tragically lost his life in May 2018 in a school accident that led to meaningful safety reforms across Virginia. His passing inspired the Wesley Charles Lipicky Act, which mandates safeguards for motorized room partitions in schools. Wesley was known for his eagerness to help others, his love of learning, and his joyful spirit on and off the baseball field. His loss was deeply felt by the entire Pioneer community—players, coaches, and families alike. This trophy is presented each year in his memory, honoring his legacy of kindness, safety, and community.
